501(c)(3) Status, Privacy and Donation Refund Policies

Bainbridge Island Rowing is an official
U.S. 501(c)(3) organization.

BIR’s 501(c)(3) Federal ID number for tax purposes is 91-2101122.

Donations to BIR are tax-deductible under section 170 of the US Tax Code, and any bequests, legacies, devises, transfers or gifts to BIR are also deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes under the provisions of tax code sections 2055, 2106 and 2522.

Bainbridge Island Rowing sends official written acknowledgments at the end of each year for all annual donations totaling $250 or more, and as stipulated in Publication 1771, Charitable Contributions – Substantiation and Disclosure Requirements, that acknowledgment contains the following information:

  • Name of the organization;
  • Amount of cash contribution;
  • Description (but not value) of non-cash contribution;
  • Statement that no goods or services were provided by the organization, if that is the case;
  • Description and good faith estimate of the value of goods or services, if any, that the organization provided in return for the contribution.

All Form 990 annual information reports from BIR are made available to the public on request for three years after their publication, as per the stipulations outlined in Publication 557 from the IRS.

Refund Policy for Donations

BIR recognizes that donors may need to request full or partial refunds of funds they have contributed, for multiple reasons including clerical errors, change in financial circumstances, or other situations. Should you wish a refund, please contact BIR’s Treasurer (treasurer@bainbridgerowing.org) to make suitable arrangements. BIR will make every effort in good faith to accommodate your request.

 

Donation Terms and Conditions

Donation Agreement: I authorize Bainbridge Island Rowing Club to debit the bank account or credit card for the services and amount noted on the web payment form. I understand that because this is an electronic transaction, these funds may be withdrawn from my account as soon as the above noted transaction date. In the case of an Automated Clearing House (ACH) transaction being rejected for Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) I understand that Bainbridge Island Rowing Club may at its discretion attempt to process the charge again within 30 days. I acknowledge that the origination of ACH transactions to my account must comply with the provisions of U.S. law. I certify that I am an authorized user of this credit card or bank account, and that I will not dispute the payment with my Credit Card Company or Bank, so long as the transaction corresponds to the terms indicated in this web form.
