BIR offers morning, evening, and Saturday programs for adult rowers.
August 30 – October 30
These sessions are open to adult rowers of all ages who would like a fast-paced row geared at increasing the endurance needed for regattas. Practice will include sweep and sculling options depending on the participants. These sessions are a good fit for you if you have competitive drive and commitment to becoming a top-level rower. Race lineups will be given priority when possible while coxing or launch driving volunteers will be utilized as needed on a rotational basis. Saturdays are designated race days with all competitive groups gathering at 7:00 am with race line-ups.
Prerequisites: One full year of rowing or coach approval. Ability to hold a stroke rate of 28.
Morning Competitive Row
Tuesday/Thursday 6:45 – 8:45 am, Saturday 7:00 – 9:00 am
Evening Competitive Row
Tuesday/Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 – 9:00 am
These fitness-based sculling sessions are open to adults of all levels, including competitive rowers wishing to improve their technique. Emphasis will be on coach feedback, drills and video review. Lineup requests will be honored when possible, but priority will be given to boats that promote the greatest overall group improvement. Coxing or launch driving volunteers will be utilized as needed on a rotational basis.
Prerequisites: Two months of Novice practice or coach approval.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:45 – 11:00 am
These sessions are open to adults in their first year of rowing and others. Emphasis will be on coach feedback, drills and video review to improve technique and fitness. Practice will include sweep and sculling skills development in preparation for joining one of the other groups. Coxing and other volunteers will be utilized as needed on a rotational basis.
Prerequisites: Learn to Row class or coach approval.
Mid-Morning Novice Row

Evening Novice Row
Monday/Wednesday 6:00 – 8:00 pm
