Bainbridge Island Rowing is proud to offer seasonal programs throughout the year to Middle School students from all across Kitsap County. These introductory programs are a great way to try a new sport or get a head start on their high school athletic plans. No prior rowing experience is required to join, and our junior teams accept new rowers during every rowing season.
Registration
You will need the the following items to register:
- USRowing Championship membership:
- Log in to USRowing. Make sure your rower’s membership is current and connected to BIR (club code KRCBC).
- You will need your rower’s membership number and expiration date.
- Current Medical Eligibility Form signed by your medical provider (valid for 2 years)
- Rower headshot
- Your rower needs to be present for required signatures
Once your registration form is processed, you will be billed through your iCrew account.

Team Structure
- All Middle School programs are co-ed and recreational.
- Rising 7-8th Graders are eligible to join any Try Rowing summer camp.
- Rising 9th Graders who have completed a middle school rowing season are eligible to join any Summer Skills summer camp.
- Know that BIR is historically a NO-CUT sport.

Uniforms
Middle School rowers don’t need to worry about uniforms. If your rower is excited to show their BIR pride, all are welcome to shop the BIR Spititwear online store.

Program Costs
Member dues give you access to all member communications, resources and programming as well as a voting voice for club business. Program fees cover everything from coach and staff time to equipment maintenance and safety launch fuel.
