Salt Watta Regatta 2018 Photo Gallery

Early Sunday morning the Bainbridge Island Rowing team—varsity and novices—headed south to Olympia for the annual Salt Watta Regatta. The morning started out cold, in the 30s, but by the time the team was headed home the temperature had reached into the 60s. BIR was joined at the regatta by Olympic Area Rowing and Commencement Bay Rowing Club from Tacoma.

BIR made a great showing, the JV and Lightweight boys 8 and 4+ both taking first place in their races, as did the JV and Lightweight 4+ girls.

Because of Daylight Savings, the 5:30 a.m. departure for Olympia felt like 4:30 a.m., and the rowers returned home happy but sleep deprived.
