Melt the Snow and Help BIR Rowers with Spice Route Takeover

So we’re got a little more snow and cold temperature than we’re used to in mid-February in Western Washington. Our rowers have only been out on the water a few times so far this season because of the ice and cold. Ten days from now you can help melt the snow with some spicy hot curry from our local Indian restaurant: On the evening of February 27, Bainbridge Island Rowing is launching a Spice Route takeover.

Whether you want to eat in or take out, Spice Route is generously giving 50 percent of the proceeds from your meal to BIR. And that money will be used directly for spring regatta transportation, helping all BIR junior rowers get to the season’s rowing events in Canada, in Vancouver, Washington, in southern Oregon, and in the Seattle area.

Choose from among curry chicken, goat vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, aloo mattar, malai kofta, shrimp tandoori, lamb biriyani, and many other Spice Route specialties. See the menu here.

Rowers are going to be busing tables. We will need two to three rowers per shift. If you are interested in helping out, email Tami Bloom at ttbloom@msn.com.

If you order out, allow for wait times of up to one hour. Spice Route is located upstairs in the Pavilion at 403 Madison Avenue.

BIR rowers thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at the Spice Route takeover!
